Axiom Space’s Ax-1 mission is scheduled to launch from NASA’s Kennedy Space Center in Florida. Ax-1 is the first of several planned Axiom missions to the International Space Station and an important step toward Axiom’s goal of constructing a private space station in low-Earth orbit that can serve as a global academic and commercial hub.
Axiom’s multinational crew of four private astronauts will travel in a SpaceX Crew Dragon. During their 10-day mission, the crew will spend eight days on the International Space Station conducting scientific research. The crew will conduct more than 25 different experiments while aboard the space station, made possible by Axiom’s full-service integration into the NASA process for science and technology activities.
