Axiom Space’s mission, Ax-2, will be lifting off from Cape Canaveral, Florida to embark on a ten-day mission into low-Earth orbit where its crew will spend eight days aboard the International Space Station (ISS) conducting a complement of microgravity research and outreach activities. You are invited to come bear witness as the Ax-2 crew, comprised of Commander Peggy Whitson, Pilot John Shoffner, and Mission Specialists Ali Alqarni and Rayyanah Barnawi from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, take off as the second fully private mission to board the ISS.

A WIDELY ATTENDED GATHERING (WAG) HAS BEEN APPROVED FOR THIS EVENT IN ACCORDANCE WITH EXECUTIVE ORDER 13989.

Where will the launch take place?

The Ax-2 launch is currently targeted for no earlier than May 21, 2023, with a backup attempt on May 22, 2023.

Ax-2 launch will lift off from historic launchpad 39A located at NASA’s Kennedy Space Center (KSC) in Cape Canaveral, Florida. Axiom Space will be hosting launch viewing events at similarly distanced locations within the Kennedy Space Center Complex.

When will the launch occur?

Please note, many factors are considered before a launch attempt, even within hours of liftoff. When booking travel and accommodation, please keep in mind that variables such as weather or technical issues can cause a launch to become unfavorable and rescheduled to a later date. It is highly recommended to book refundable flights and hotels. We recommend keeping the backup attempts in mind when planning your trip.
