Axiom Space Announces Dave Romero’s Promotion to Axiom Station Program Manager

Axiom Space is thrilled to announce that Dave Romero, former Axiom Station Deputy Program Manager, has been promoted to Program Manager for the commercial station. With over two decades of experience in the aerospace and defense industries, Dave's leadership and expertise will be crucial as Axiom Space carries forward its mission to build the world’s first commercial space station.

Dave joined Axiom Space in 2023 as the deputy PM, and has made significant contributions to the program, including leading strategic optimizations to enhance efficiency in the new station sequence and ensure alignment with customer needs and NASA’s objectives for attaching Axiom Station’s first module to the International Space Station.

Before joining Axiom Space, Dave dedicated 24 years to advancing Space Systems, where he held a variety of senior management roles. Throughout his career, he demonstrated an outstanding ability to lead high-performing teams, on multi-billion-dollar contracts, and spearheaded the full life cycle of cutting-edge, human-rated spaceflight hardware through design to application and use in spaceflight. His breadth of experience and strategic vision spans NASA, Department of Defense, and commercial space, which has made him an invaluable asset in driving innovation and success in the space sector.

Dave holds a Master of Business Administration from Rice University, a Master of Mechanical Engineering from Auburn University, anda Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of New Orleans. He has received numerous accolades throughout his career, including the AIAA Engineer of the Year award and the NASA Public Service Medal.
